A LEDBURY care home has been named one of the best in the West Midlands.
Deer Park Care Home, based in Martins Way, off Leadon Way, was praised by residents and their families, with Porthave Care Homes, which owns the home, also rated as one of the top 20 care home groups in the UK.
Both will now receive an award from care home reviews guide, carehome.co.uk based on reviews written by residents, families and friends. The news comes on the back of Deer Park achieving the highest possible rating on carehome.co.uk after opening last year.

There are nearly 17,000 care homes in the UK caring for around half a million people. Over 12,000 support older people aged 65 and over, while the rest care for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
People are now living longer, and with 19 per cent of the total population in the UK aged 65 years or older, equating to 11 million people, demand for care homes is set to grow.
“Our first year has been all we had hoped for and more, and this achievement is an incredible way to enter our home’s second year," said Marie Wood, Home Manager at Deer Park Care Home.
"I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every member of our team for their contribution towards Deer Park’s success.”
Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of carehome.co.uk, added: “We now have over 260,000 reviews of care homes on carehome.co.uk so we are able to give people a real insight into what a care home and its care staff are like.

"Our reviews reveal if the care home is value for money as well as the standard of its facilities and the quality of their care, activities and nutrition.
“Reviews of Deer Park Care Home show they provide an excellent standard of care and we would like to congratulate them on being a Top 20 care home in the West Midlands. It is such an achievement to be named as a top rated care home by the residents who actually receive the care as well as their family and friends.
“Choosing a care home can be emotionally and physically exhausting for both the person going to live there as well as their family, so we hope our awards which are given to the highest rated homes will help make the search easier.”
Sean Kime, Co-founder and Commercial Director of Porthaven Care Homes, said: “I am incredibly proud that we are once again being recognised as a top 20 care home group in the UK. This achievement is a true testament to the brilliant teams across our homes who are dedicated to providing our residents with the highest quality of care.”
