A HEREFORD student was among the Scout volunteers acting as stewards along the route of Saturday's Coronation processions.
Peter Wolffsohn, a Scout volunteer at 1st Hereford Scout Troop and a student at NMiTE, was amongst a number of 18-25 year olds acting as stewards, lining the route and generally helping the public in central London during the historic event.
Their day started early, getting up at 3am on Saturday morning to be in position at Admiralty Arch, to guide and assist the thousands of people attending, though Peter reveals that the early start proved a challenge, and, having missed the bus, he had to make his own way into London.

Peter was one of just 120 Scouts selected for the honour, drawn from the hundreds of thousands who take part in Scouts across the UK.
"It was quite a selection process," Peter, who is 19, says, "It started with us having to provide information about ourselves and why we wanted to do it. I heard a few months ago that I'd been successful."
Peter counts himself very lucky to have been in the group at Admiralty Arch, "because we got to see it all. I'd have to say that the best bit was seeing the King in all his glory. I wouldn't have said I was much of a royalist but that was a really special moment and I'll remember it for many years to come."
