A HEREFORDSHIRE pub that has been closed for nearly two years is on track to open by the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Bateman Arms, in Shobdon, near Leominster, has been closed since the summer of 2021.
However, Mike Pope has decided to reopen it after positive feedback from locals.

"I am trying my best to be open for Bank Holiday weekend but there's no absolute guarantee until I get much nearer the date," said Mr Pope.
"We will be serving food, have local ales - such as Wye Valley and Guests - and a great selection of lagers, ciders and wines/
"We will be dog friendly, but dogs need to be on a lead, and will be family friendly with a kids food menu.
"We have renovated the inside of the pub and now have approval to fix the damage on the outside, however this will take some time to complete.
"We will still have our lower village bar area, as well as a fantastic restaurant, plus an area for larger dining groups.
"We have a lovely garden for everyone to relax and enjoy the sunshine and will also be able to serve takeaway pizzas and other items."
