ENTRANTS from as far afield as Herefordshire and Shropshire turned out for an annual tractor run at the weekend.

A bumper entry of 89 turned out on Sunday, May 14, for the annual Hundred House tractor run in aid of the village hall appeal.

The assembled entourage of tractors, 4x4s and friends of the hall raised with entry fees, raffle tickets and donations a total of over £1,300.

As well as being well supported by the local tractor community in the Llandrindod Wells area, entries had come from as far afield as Bridgnorth, Brecon, Llanwrtyd Wells, Sennybridge and Herefordshire to enjoy a day out in rolling hills of South Radnorshire.

One competitor, Tom Mason of Hereford, was enjoying the day out after celebrating his 87th birthday yesterday on his Ferguson.

Route plotter, Mervyn Price led the procession of tractors in his bright yellow JCB Fastrac by touring the communities of Cregina, Llanbadarn-Y-Garreg, Llanbwchllyn to the dinner stop at Pwllperran Farm by kind permission of the Simmonds family.

Here the assembled tractor drivers were treated to viewing the tractor collection of the family before it was time for the off again.

The tractors meandered around the Begwns and the Roundabout to Painscastle, over Rhulen Hill back to Cregina and retracing their steps back to Hundred House.

Back in the village hall, the raffle was drawn, and the entrants were treated to refreshments.

Mervyn Price thanked everyone for coming, all entrants, all marshals and the ladies servicing the refreshments, before announcing that over £1,300 had been raised for the hall’s upkeep.
