The court heard from prosecutor Paul John that the 64-year-old had been accused of recording another person doing a private act without their consent.
It was alleged that the recording was made with the intention that he would, for the purpose of sexual gratification, look at an image of that person doing the act in Hereford between August 5, 2021, and February 7, 2022.
The case against Sherrard, of Moorfield Street, Hereford, was dismissed at the hearing.
