The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 24-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Emma Thorne, had assaulted a man by beating him in an incident in Belmont, Hereford, on January 20.
Cotterell, of Belmont Road, Hereford, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, with magistrates saying that they had taken her guilty plea into account when coming to their decision.
She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £26 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
