A HEREFORDSHIRE gin has won the prestigious award of Product of the Year from The Gin Guide.
Penrhos Spirits' Wonky Raspberry is made with wibbly wobbly raspberries from the Penrhos Fruit Farm near Kington that would otherwise go to waste and unable to be sold to shops.
The award is given to the gin which receives the highest combined score from the judges' blind tasting, together with the design and branding category.
The limited edition flavour was also launched in Penrhos Spirits' 100 per cent recycled aluminium bottles, that are fully reusable, recyclable and refillable.

Moving forward, the firm will be transitioning all of its spirits into these bottles as part of its ongoing commitment to the environment.

Harriet Williams, spokesperson at Penrhos Spirits said: "We were so delighted to find out that we'd won the Gin Guide's Product of the Year.
"2023 has been a real step change for all of us at Penrhos, as we made the move to launch our gins into 100 per cent recycled aluminium bottles moving forward, and it's really fantastic to see the industry responding so well to this.

"The award was judged both on blind tasting and design, and we hope it will inspire other spirits brands to take the step with us into aluminium, which we really believe is the right future for drinks brands in our changing world.
"We're also especially proud that our Wonky Raspberry represents a real effort to cut down on food waste at the farm, as we created this limited edition flavour by distilling surplus raspberries from last summer, with every bottle containing 100g of wonky raspberries.
"Working with wibbly wobbly fruit has always been at the centre of our spirits-making ethos since we started making gin back in 2018."
