WHEN I went to the bank on Friday it was rammed with people trying to receive a service from an inadequately staffed branch (Barclays and Halifax to close in Leominster).
There were people waiting for counter service, cash machines and customer meetings. I did not have enough time to reach the top of the queue before my parking ran out. It’s not the first time I have queued for counter service for over 20 minutes.

Therefore I view with scepticism the branch is closing due to ‘lack of customer demand’ and more a chance to get us all signed up to internet-only accounts where they can charge us (or the vendor) for every transaction.
Tenbury and Ludlow now have at least 20 miles to go for counter service and older more loyal customers will suffer the most.
It seems people in rural areas are disproportionately affected by this effort to reduce service.
