WORK to rip up Widemarsh Street's notorious kerbs in Hereford is to take longer to complete, Herefordshire Council has confirmed.
The kerbs, which have been the cause of several trips and falls since being installed in 2011, are being replaced, with wortk starting on March 13.
Balfour Beatty Living Places said it would take 17 weeks, with the work being carried out in two phases at a cost of £1.2 million.

The first phase has involved the company working between the junction with Blueschool Street and Maylord Street, with the second phase taking place between Maylord Street and High Street.
However, the council has said that, "due to design amendments and on-site testing, the initial phase has taken longer than scheduled."
A spokesperson added: "To reduce further delays, the programme has been updated so works on multiple phases of the project can take place concurrently and contractors will occasionally be working on site on Saturdays.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank the public for their ongoing patience. We are committed to completing the project as soon as possible and expect works to be completed by the end of July.”
