VISITING my wife in the county hospital on May 24 I couldn’t park at the hospital one day because there were no spaces, so I parked instead at a nearby car park in Kyrle Street.
I entered my car registration in the machine there, and I was then asked to put in my bank card in the usual way. I did all of this and the machine appeared to take my payment but didn’t give me a ticket.

Thinking it had a faulty printer, I warned others not to use that machine. I then left a note on my windscreen saying that I had paid, and went into the hospital. I was surprised a few days later to get a charge notice for £60 from a company called Minster Baywatch.
I appealed, which was predictably dismissed fairly quickly, with a warning that it would be £100 if not paid in 14 days. This is so very unfair, and I caution others to beware of this car park.
