King Street Kitchen, King Street
This coffee shop and kitchen is a favourite for breakfast and lunch, with a 4.5 Trip Advisor rating based on 255 reviews.
The latest Trip Advisor review (at the time of writing) brands the King Street breakfast “simply the best in Hereford”. They added: “Having tried several others, this is head and shoulders above the competition. There is cheaper available but there is no substitute for quality. I am fussy and asked for my sausage to be burnt – I’m sure the chef wasn’t happy with that, but I got exactly what I’d asked for. Also, as I don’t like tomatoes, I declined them, and they gave me an additional mushroom without asking. Staff really care and coffee is excellent too.”
The Harewood End Inn, Harewood End
This family-run country inn is just over five miles from Hereford but is worth the journey for its 4.5 star food, based on 572 Trip Advisor reviews.
A recent review said: “We had a superb meal and a few drinks afterwards in a comfortable bar area. There is also a great garden at the back of the pub. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was superb.”
Another Trip Advisor user said that the food was “far better than normal pub grub”. They added: “The menu had excellent choices so nobody would feel compromised. When the food arrived, the meals were large and tasted home cooked. The vegetables were of top quality and variety and, unusually for a restaurant, neither under- nor over-cooked. Service was brisk and friendly.”
“Come on people,” urged one reviewer. “Give them a go – you won’t be disappointed.”
