A TECHNICAL fault caused the emergency 999 phone service to go down this morning (Sunday).
A national fault caused huge problems across the country, affecting police, ambulance and fire services.
West Mercia Police urged people to instead call 101, while if it was a medical emergency, the 111 service was to be used.

And for fire emergencies in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, people were told to call 03333 990023.
However, BT has managed to fix the problem and the public is now advised to call 999 as usual for emergencies only.
