I TEND to agree with Amelia Washbourne about the bypass (Building the bypass would finish off Hereford!).
Would it not be lateral thinking to use part of the funds it would cost (to build the bypass and spoil the view) by increasing the frequency of bus connections – perhaps even buses for school runs, with paid monitors?
