A local developer is seeking permission to create 14 more plots for self-build homes by a Herefordshire village.
Kinsey Hern of FC Jones & Co plans to develop 1.9 hectares of farmland southwest of Lyonshall in partnership with local bespoke builder Oakwrights.
The development, to be called Clover Close, would sit alongside a smaller development for four self-build plots, which permission was applied for last year but has yet to be granted. Access to these is to be via Webbs Meadow, where a similar self-build development is already well advanced.

The new proposal lies within an area earmarked for housing in the village’s neighbourhood development plan. Lyonshall is among the county’s smaller settlements in which new housing is encouraged under the Herefordshire local plan.
The scheme would require new access onto the C1031 Spond Lane to the north, currently separated from the site by a mature hedgerow.
“The intention is that the applicant will install the road, services, and all other infrastructure up to each plot,” Mr Hern’s agent explains in the application.

“The 18 plots will then be sold as serviced plots with each plot owner specifying and building a dwelling designed for their needs.”
The details of these would then have to be approved in a separate application.
According to a financial viability assessment commissioned as part of the proposal, there should be no requirement for affordable housing or for so-called section 106 contributions to local infrastructure and services.
Comments on the new application, numbered 231889, can be made until August 3.
