NOMINATIONS are already pouring in for this year's Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards, but there's still plenty of time to nominate your personal hero in the sector.
The awards, held in conjunction with the University of Worcester and Altogether Care, were created to recognise the hard work, dedication, innovation and care delivered across the health and social care sector.
A former winner of the Mental Health category, Herefordshire Men's Mental Health Group, is among those nominated this year.
One of several nominations for the group singles it out for its provision of "a non-judgmental, safe space for men at risk of, suffering from, or recovering from mental illness ... the HMMH group stands out through their unique approach to mental health care.
"This, I believe is totally unique within Herefordshire and is providing a lifeline to men who are struggling with their mental health – and particularly vital due to the unique nature of Herefordshire with many people living rurally and feeling socially isolated.

"HMMH offered me the lifeline I needed during a time of immense personal turmoil. I feel that the support I and others receive from the group makes them deserving of the Mental Health Award, as they have profoundly positive effect on men who are suffering with mental ill health in Herefordshire."

So if there’s an individual, team or business that you think has gone the extra mile, now is the time to nominate them for an award.
