TRAIN enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that an iconic steam engine will be passing through Herefordshire on Thursday (July 13). 

According to realtimetrains.co.uk the 46100 Royal Scot will be entering the county at 10.57am when it comes through Pontrilas from Abergavenny. 

It will then travel north into Hereford, where it will arrive at 11.13am. 

After leaving the city, the locomotive will travel up to Leominster and into Shropshire. 

The steam-hauled service will start its journey in Slough at 6.24am before finishing at Shrewsbury at 12.37pm. 

However, if you miss seeing the train during the morning, you will have another chance to see it when it comes back through Herefordshire on its return journey.
