The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 31-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Marilena Di Vitantonio, had used threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm, or distress in Hereford on June 18.
Ellis, of Roman Road, Hereford, was handed a three-month conditional discharge for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision.
No order was made for prosecution costs to be paid.
