A THIEF stole four bottles of spirits from a Herefordshire supermarket, a court has been told.

Joshua Juson entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in June accused of one count of theft from a shop.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 31-year-old had entered the Tesco supermarket in Ledbury on May 27.

But instead of paying for his goods, he had stolen two bottles of Jack Daniels and two bottles of Absolute Vodka, worth a total of £119, from the shop, the court was told.

Juson, of Church Lane in Handsworth, Birmingham, was handed a four-month conditional discharge for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account.

No order was made for prosecution costs to be paid as, the court heard, Juson has insufficient means to afford to pay them.
