THE family of a member of the SAS who died last month are trying to raise as much money to help support his children.

Rob Macmillan was just 41 when he died of a heart attack and an undiagnosed heart disease. He had three children, Lexi, 12, Riley 14 and Reece, 19, as well as a stepson, Harvey, 17.

His brother, Scott said that Rob, whose funeral was held last Wednesday (July 12) worked at various places, including building wheelchairs at HR Smith.

However, his heart was in the 63rd SAS Signal Squadron reserve troop, who support additional communications capability to their regular counterparts.

"He was a loving dad, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend," said Scott.

"We all lost our parents within a short time of each other so we all pulled together as families should.

"He passed away from complications from the heart and undiagnosed heart disease.

"He had only just turned 41. Every penny he had went to make sure his children would want for nothing. Even though he has gone, he will be forever in all our hearts and thoughts.

"It’s his children we need to focus on now and make sure they have a good safe life that Rob would’ve wanted for them.

"Any money that is raised will be put in a trust fund for when they turn 21."
