A BODY has been found in the river Wye in Hereford this evening in the search for a missing Hereford man.
The missing 29-year-old, who was identified by police as Sean Day, disappeared on July 29.
Police were initially called to the river Wye in Hereford at around 12.05am that morning after receiving reports that Mr Day had fallen into the river near the Castle Green Pavilion.
Three men, aged 34, 28 and 24, were arrested when new information was received that Mr Day had allegedly been involved in an altercation, with police appealing for anyone who was in the Quay Street or Castle Green area of Hereford between 10.30pm on July 28 and 12.30am on July 29 who may have seen or heard a disturbance or person in distress to get in contact.
Police said on August 2 that they had all been released on police bail while detectives continue to investigate what had happened.

Searches of the river have been ongoing since Mr Day's disappearance, with a body finally confirmed to have been found in the river in the Hinton area of Hereford this evening, August 9.
Police, firefighters, and search and rescue teams are all at the riverside this evening.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson has confirmed that a body has been found and that it is believed to be that of Mr Day.
"A recovery operation is now underway and a large police presence is expected to be in the area for some time," the spokesperson said.
"Formal identification is yet to take place, however Sean’s family have been informed."
