A SPEEDER caught out in Herefordshire has escaped a roads ban to prevent exceptional hardship to his family and army colleagues.
Adam Stephen McLarty appeared before magistrates in Worcester in July after previously entering a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 50 miles per hour speed limit.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 36-year-old had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Ford in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig in Herefordshire on October 29.

He had been clocked speeding by manned camera equipment, the court heard.
McLarty, of Cannon Corner, Brockworth, Gloucester, was fined £200 and received three penalty points for the offence. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and an £80 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as, magistrates said, a roads ban would cause exceptional hardship to family members living in rural Herefordshire and as it would impact his team in the army if he was not able to fulfil the driving part of his role.
