A MERCEDES driver has escaped a roads ban after he was caught breaking the limit.
Alan Ayris appeared before magistrates in Worcester in August after entering a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 30 miles per hour speed limit at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 61-year-old had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Mercedes in a 30 miles per hour zone on the A438 Ledbury Road in Hereford on November 28.

He had been clocked speeding by manned camera equipment, the court heard.
Ayris, of Wye Street, Ross-on-Wye, was fined £192, received three penalty points, and was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £68 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as, magistrates said, a roads ban would have an impact on an elderly relative to whom he provides care and assistance and on his own health, which requires him to attend appointments some distance from his home.
