A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been fined after he was caught driving while disqualified.

Barnaby Smith, aged 35, of Lowfield Meadow, Kingstone, was driving a Vauxhall Zafira on Abbotsmead Road in Belmont, Hereford, on May 6.

Tom Wickstead, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court, said police were alerted to the vehicle after receiving a call from staff from the nearby Tesco supermarket.

"Police attended Mr Smith's address and there was a conversation," said Mr Wickstead.

"He refused to engage with the police any further. A short time after, Mr Smith came out of the address but when the police attempted to speak to him, Mr Smith ran away and refused to engage.
