Plans have been put forward for a 25-home estate in Herefordshire's picturesque Golden Valley.
Mrs E Morgan and Messrs G & D Morgan have submitted a planning application to develop a one-hectare field at the north end of Peterchurch, between Chapel Lane, Lewis Way and the main B4348 through the village.
Nine of the 25 two-storey homes would be classed as affordable, the remainder being for open-market sale.

These would have several sustainability features including high thermal efficiency and solar gain, solar panels on the roofs, air-source heat pumps, sustainable drainage and electric vehicle charging points.
Local planning policy identifies Peterchurch, with its numerous facilities and bus links, as a focus for residential development. The proposed site lies within the village boundary as set out in its neighbourhood development plan.

The applicants received “positive” pre-application advice on the plan from Herefordshire Council, which has led to “amended designs to better reflect local vernacular”, their application says.
Given its size, approval of the development is expected to require obligations on the developer to fund wider infrastructure, likely to be in the areas of education, open space and play, sustainable travel, and medical facilities, it adds.
Comments on the application, numbered 232431, can be made until October 5.
