A NEW feature in a Herefordshire village has made a Herefordshire Trail footpath and footbridge more accessible.
Ewyas Harold Parish Council collaborated with a local landowner to install two new gates on the Herefordshire Trail footpath between Ewyas Harold and Pontrilas.
Alex Culpin, a member of the council, said that there was increased demand for better accessibility on the footpath, which previously had stiles.

He explained: "We as a council had had a fair few requests from villagers regarding it. It's a well used path by people who particularly need better accessibility than a stile can provide, like those with off-road pushchairs.
"The gates were funded by Ewyas Harold Parish Council, and installed by our lengthsman with the kind co-operation of the landowner who agreed."
The lengthsman, who is responsible for all sorts of essential maintenance and jobs in the parish, also repaired the surface of the footpath.
This part of the Herefordshire Trail is a gentle trek through the beautiful Golden Valley countryside, enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
