WHEN a buffet restaurant brushed aside competition from a host of Herefordshire eateries to scoop the best reviews on Trip Advisor, you could say my interest was piqued.
Over 700 Trip Advisor users fell in love with Amazing Asia, an Indian and Thai buffet in Old Market, edging it above all of the competition in Herefordshire.
So, I booked to go to Amazing Asia to see for myself.
I brought my partner Ryan with me and between us, we took the time to try nearly all the dishes.
We both headed straight for the Thai sizzling chicken, having seen glowing reviews of it on Trip Advisor. It didn't disappoint - it was salty with a sweet chilli flavour, though it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, and it was sticky while retaining its crispiness. It was easily the highlight of the buffet for us both.
Other favourites included the prawn chow mein, the chicken tikka masala and the honey mint lamb.
We were also very happy with the side dishes we tried, especially the sweet peshwari naan bread, poppadoms and Thai sticky jasmine rice.
After all that, we somehow managed to find room for dessert. The pudding section of the buffet was limited, but delicious. Sponges, Swiss roll and soft serve ice cream were the perfect end to a filling meal, as they satisfied my sweet tooth but were not at all sickly.

Having enjoyed our meal, Amazing Asia even surprised us with after-dinner entertainment.
We got a sneak peak of a new magic show coming to the restaurant from Monday September 11 - with local magician Kiegan Vallely wowing us with his incredible card tricks.
Mr Vallely, who has previously performed for celebrities and royals, will be doing close-up magic at Amazing Asia from Mondays to Thursdays every week, giving kids and adults alike the chance to enjoy free shows while they feast on the Indian and Thai buffet.

Entry to the buffet at dinner time costs £17.50, which is good value considering there are around 70 dishes available to help yourself to.
We were well looked after by Jay and his team, who were all friendly, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.
We left Amazing Asia feeling stuffed but very satisfied. We are looking forward to coming again, and will be back as soon as our appetites have recovered from last time.
