A STALKER who put signs up and sent flowers and gifts to a woman in Herefordshire has been back up before the magistrates.

Connor Walker entered a guilty plea to one count of failing to comply with the requirements of a community order when he appeared before magistrates in Cheltenham in September.

The court heard from the probation service that the 26-year-old had been made subject to a community order by magistrates in Hereford in May 2021 after the magistrates were told that his course of conduct had amounted to the stalking of a woman in Ledbury between December 31, 2018, and November 8, 2019.

Magistrates at the time were told that Walker's behaviour, which had included monitoring the woman's social media, sending her multiple messages and emails, putting signage between her home address and workplace, sending flowers, and leaving cards and gifts on her drive, had caused her serious alarm or distress.

But, the court heard, Walker had failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of his community order by failing to attend planned office appointments on April 5 and 11, and further failing to give acceptable reasons for his absences within the required time.

The original community order was revoked and a new community order made, with Walker, of Old Pike, Much Marcle, ordered to participate in an accredited 30-day programme before March 12, 2025.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £60.
