AN ATTACKER who kicked a police officer in the leg has been up before the magistrates.

Audi Carr appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing in September after entering a guilty plea to one count of assaulting an emergency worker by beating and one count of common assault of an emergency worker at an earlier hearing in July.

The court heard from prosecutor Owen Beale that the 48-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Edmund Middleton had assaulted a police officer in Hereford by beating on July 23, kicking him in the upper thigh.

Carr, of Commercial Road, Hereford, was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to pay compensation of £50 to each of the officers.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £50 and a £114 victim surcharge.
