PLANS for a new Herefordshire care home have been revealed.
Specialist care developer Oculus Supported Living and Muller Property Group has revealed plans for an 84-bed nursing home in Leominster.
The proposed site, just off Monkland Road, is currently home to Conod’s of Leominster and Barons Cross garage haulage yard.
The care home will be registered with the Care Quality Commission and will be designed to be fit for addressing the needs of elderly people.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Centred around landscaped gardens, the development will offer much-needed nursing beds for older people, helping to address an identified need in the local area.”
The rooms would include en-suite wet rooms, external landscaping, private gardens and amenity facilities.

They also plan to create 38 parking spaces, including two disabled bays and a service area with an ambulance and mini-bus drop-off area.
The group claims that around 75 new jobs would be created, and no existing jobs would be lost as the existing business on the site will be moving to another premises.
Additionally, they say the care home will have wider benefits for the area, as the haulage yard will be replaced with a sustainable building specially designed to befit its surroundings and heavy goods vehicle activity will be reduced.
A website has been set up by the group where plans for the development can be found and locals can leave their feedback regarding the proposal.
The site can be accessed at www.leominstercare.co.uk
Their planning application is expected to be determined by Herefordshire Council over the winter.
