A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been handed to a Hereford attacker who assaulted a woman and damaged two cars.
Jack Sims appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing in October after admitting one count of assault by beating and four counts of criminal damage at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 29-year-old had assaulted a woman by beating in Hereford on October 3.

He had also, without lawful excuse, intentionally or recklessly damaged a Hyundai car, garden, door, phone, and television belonging to the same woman and a Vauxhall Corsa belonging to another person in Hereford on the same date.
Magistrates said the offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified as Sims has a flagrant disregard for people and their property.
Sims, of Flaxley Drive, Hereford, was handed a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, and was ordered to pay compensation of £500 to the Vauxhall owner.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135.
