WITH reference to Vanessa Elphick’s letter about the state of roads in Herefordshire (Letters, October 12), I have had the same problems.
I contacted Balfour Beatty, who have the contract with Herefordshire Council.

Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
I did not get a response from Balfour Beatty at first, so I complained to Herefordshire Council.
Soon after that, a Balfour Beatty surveyor met me at one of the unfit-for-purpose stretches of road. Since then, that stretch of road has been repaired.
I was told that there was only one complaint other than mine, so we need to put in formal complaints to the correct department.
