A MET Office weather warning is set to come into force in Herefordshire this evening as Storm Ciaran hits.
The yellow weather warning for rain, covering most of the county, south Wales, and much of southern England, will come into force at 6pm today (November 1) and remain in force until 11.59pm tomorrow.

The Met Office said periods of heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán are forecast to affect much of southern England and south Wales from Wednesday evening.

Some 20 to 30 millimetres is likely widely, the Met Office said, but 40 to 60 millimetres may accumulate in parts of the country, especially, but not exclusively, over higher ground.
The Met Office warned that some upland areas of southwest England and south and southwest Wales may see 80 millimetres of rain.

Forecasters said that this amount of rainfall could have further impacts due to the already saturated conditions and potential for fallen leaves to block drains.
These could include transport delays and cancellations, flooding to homes and businesses, fast-flowing or deep floodwater, and communities being cut off by flooding, the Met Office said.
Storm Ciaran will be the second in as many weeks to hit Herefordshire, after Storm Babet brought flooding to the county in October.
