A FLOOD alert has been issued in Herefordshire ahead of Storm Ciaran hitting the county later today.
The warning has been issued for the river Lugg south of Leominster.
The Environment Agency said flooding is possible in this area, and warned locals to monitor local water levels and weather conditions.

People in the area are also being warned to avoid using low-lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding, and to start acting on their flood plan.
A yellow Met Office weather warning for rain is set to come into force for Herefordshire at 6pm today (November 1) and will remain in force throughout tomorrow.
Flooding previously hit Herefordshire in October, when Storm Babet brought heavy rain and floods to several parts of Britain.
The Bromyard area was among the worst hit in Herefordshire during Storm Babet, with several roads in and out of the town impassable.
