A Facebook post from the club explained: "With great regret, the weather conditions mean that we have had to decide to cancel the fireworks night for 2023."
A spokesperson for the Ross-on-Wye Lions Club told the Hereford Times: "Ross Lions are very disappointed to have to make the decision to cancel their planned firework display this coming Saturday. It was not a decision made lightly, but with consideration for the current weather conditions together with the forecast and risk of flooding, it was the safest and most sensible decision to make. Lions are all volunteers and we thank those in the community who support us and those who willingly offer their time to help us."
The rain that has hit Herefordshire this week is set to continue throughout Saturday.
The Met Office currently has a yellow weather warning for rain in place, and a flood alert has been issued further north in the county for the river Lugg.
