A SEX offender has been sent to the crown court after breaking the terms of the sex offenders register.

Thom Benjamin was found guilty of one count of failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register by magistrates in Hereford in November.

The court heard from prosecutor Sarah Hurd that Benjamin, as a relevant offender under the Sexual Offences Act, had failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the notification requirements of that act.

The 27-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Matt Lewis, had failed to complete his annual notification, in which he was required to re-confirm his details, by December 20 last year.

The case was sent to the crown court for sentencing and Benjamin, of Wye Terrace, Hereford, was released on unconditional bail.

He will appear before Worcester Crown Court for sentencing on December 12.
