Hereford’s Welsh Social Club plans to stay open later for a variety of events.
The venue, at the corner of Hinton Road and the A49 Ross Road, wants permission to sell alcohol until 2am, and to stay open until 2.30, on Fridays, Saturdays and New Year’s Eve, and to sell alcohol until 11.30pm and stay open till midnight on other nights.
It also plans to host live and recorded music indoors, “mainly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and special occasions” until 2am, and also to put on outdoor music until 9.30pm during hot weather and family fun days.

It is seeking permission to host darts, skittles, card game and pool, and also to show films “for special events and fundraising”, till 1.30am at weekends.
And it wants a licence enabling it to hire out rooms for weddings, parties and fundraising events until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, until 11.30 on weekdays, and until half past midnight on Sundays.
Entry to the club is limited to members and guests., who must sign in and who are “requested to respect local residents by leaving quietly and not congregating outside the building”, the application says.
Consultation on the club’s licensing application via Herefordshire Council’s licensing webpage closes on December 25.
