HEREFORD has been included in a list of the best festive getaways in the UK.
The Guardian list features Hereford along with seven other locations, and recommends it for a Christmas trip.
From its festive celebrations to the history that oozes out of the city, the Guardian says Hereford is worth visiting during Christmas.
Hereford, the Guardian says, has the "perfect antidote to soulless shopping malls" in Church Street.

The Hereford Cathedral Christmas fair is set to take place in Hereford on December 16 and has a little something for everyone to find gifts for their loved ones.
The Guardian, explaining the event, says: "40 stallholders will set up shop inside Hereford Cathedral for its annual fair, featuring homemade produce, handcrafted items and, of course, carols."
It also recommends the We Are Farming Minds tractor run, which is on today (December 9), and says that those experiencing "festive overload" can head to the Black and White House Museum which will be bringing to life the Christmas Ban, when parliament tried to stop Christmas in the 17th century, on December 18.
The other locations on the list are:
- Buxton
- Totnes
- Cambridge
- Conwy
- Dunkeld
- Arundel
- Malton
