THREE HEREFORDSHIRE schools have unexpectedly had to close their doors today (December 14).
Fairfield High School, Ewyas Harold Primary School and Peterchurch Primary School have all had to suspend lessons and send children home due to a burst main pipe halting the operation of toilets and cooking facilities.
A spokesperson for Fairfield High School said that the issue is not expected to be fixed until this afternoon and that students can still access their work on digital platforms such as Google Classroom.

The burst pipe supplies much of Vowchurch, Peterchurch and Brampton, meaning homes and businesses in that area will also be affected.
Until the pipe is fixed locals may experience low water pressure or no water at all, said a spokesperson for Welsh Water.
The supplier is offering their priority services to locals at this time, offering assistance such as the delivery of bottled drinking water to parents with babies, those who have an illness that requires water, have sight or hearing difficulties, are elderly, disabled or are signed up to their priority services register for other reasons.
