A former Herefordshire plant nursery and garden centre could be converted into self-built homes.
Local builder Gary Howe is seeking outline permission to build up to ten detached and semi-detached houses at Long Lane Farm, Peterchurch.
his application (number 233619, consultation closes January 8) deals chiefly with waste and surface water drainage and vehicle access at the site of just under a hectare, and contains few details of the proposed houses.

Unusually, these would harvest their own rainwater which would be stored in underground tanks, while hard standing areas would be permeable.
The houses would also incorporate roof-mounted solar panels, air-source heat pumps and high thermal efficiency, his application says.
And a proposed mixed-fruit orchard alongside “would take any phosphates from this mixed use scheme out of the ground”.
Disused for over five years, the site is still home to several steel storage sheds and horticultural polytunnels.
