HIGH winds have cancelled a popular Hereford Christmas event today (December 21).
Christmas markets, with up to 30 stalls offering local crafts, accessories, unique gifts, and food have been taking place in Hereford every Thursday and Friday during December in the lead-up to the big day on December 25.
But poor weather has hit the festive market this morning.
A Herefordshire Council spokesperson said that due to predicted high winds, Hereford's Thursday Christmas street market has been cancelled.
"The Met office forecast for December 22 looks better, so hopefully back to normal for the Friday and Saturday markets," the spokesperson said.

Met Office weather forecast
A Met Office yellow weather warning for wind is in force for Scotland, the north, and the north midlands this morning, with Herefordshire outside of the warning zone.
The Met Office said today will be a very windy day with potentially severe gales in parts of the country, cloudy skies, and some drizzle to start before becoming brighter through the day.
Tonight will remain blustery, with drizzle arriving during the early hours of Friday.
Friday will be mostly cloudy, starting damp but turning drier later. Conditions will still be gusty, but feeling mild in sheltered spots.
