A BUSY Hereford road will be closed for closed for five days next week.
Friars Street will be shut from January 1 to 5 for water works outside Lexden Court.
Herefordshire Council say that the following alternative route will be in place.
- Via Whitehorse Street, onto Wordsworth Road, onto Westfaling Street, onto Breinton Road, onto Barton Road, and onto the A49 for traffic exiting north of Friars Street.
- Via Barton Road, onto the A49, and onto Whitehorse Street for traffic exiting south of Friars Street.

The council add that the closure is required due to sewer repair works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.
Friars Street is a one-way street that links Barton Road to Eign Street.
Herefordshire Council has therefore made a temporary right-turn restriction order to prohibit vehicles from making a right-hand turn onto Whitecross Road, as well as turning right onto Barton Road.
