LOCALS in a Herefordshire village fear being stranded if the flooding gets worse.
Marden has once again been hit by the wet weather, with Haywards Lane and the Moreton-on-Lugg road both being underwater.
Thankfully, the Marden to Sutton St Nicholas is passable. However, that may be a different story if more heavy rain falls in the next 24 hours or so.
"This weather is not going to get better," said Beth Macbain.
"Marden is full of very vulnerable people, including myself.
"The Parish Council keep saying they can't do anything and the Environment Agency needs to get involved to reduce the flooding on the Moreton road so ambulance and fire engines can get through.

"So if the Sutton road floods, then we are stranded.
"These floods are more frequent and more severe, lasting for longer.
"I think this is the fifth time in two-and-a-half months and it's becoming a problem.
"It is really bad in 2020 and a couple of vehicles were floating in the road and it marooned three cars.
"We haven't had it quite that bad, but the Environment Agency doesn't seem to want to help. I hate to say it but 'we're in God's waiting room.
"There are so many residents in Marden over the age of 90 and if they drive on the road, their vehicle will be swept off the road into the ditch."
