A THIEF who stole vodka and Fanta from a Hereford supermarket has told magistrates he is not receiving any benefits at all.
Tom Bowen entered a guilty plea to one count of theft from a shop when he appeared before magistrates in January.
The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 32-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Marilena Di Vitantonio, had stolen from Hereford's Lidl supermarket, in the Brook Retail Park on September 24.

The goods he had taken from the shop were Fanta and vodka, magistrates in Hereford were told.
Bowen, of Weatheroak Hill in Alvechurch, Birmingham, was ordered to pay compensation of £47.47 to Lidl, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea to the charge into account when coming the their decision.
No order was made for prosecution costs to be paid, with magistrates saying that this was due to his current circumstances, as he is not receiving any benefits at present.
