THE price of a historic pub up for sale in a black and white Herefordshire village has been dropped.

Ye Olde Salutation Inn, in Weobley's Market Pitch, is on the market with commercial agents Sidney Phillips.

Set in one of Herefordshire's beautiful black and white villages, the historic pub, known locally as 'The Sal', serves up a range of traditional beers alongside a wide range of bar snacks and pub meals.

It also offers classic roast lunches on Sundays.

Previously owned by Enterprise Inns, which bought the village pub in 2006, the pub was sold to its former chef Stuart Elder in 2006.

It is now up for sale again, and was initially listed with a price tag of £560,000, with the agents saying it has an annual turnover of £300,000, net of VAT.

But the price has now been dropped to £450,000 freehold or £25,000 leasehold.

The agents said the pub offers a four-section lounge and restaurant with space for 70 covers and a separate bar and conservatory.

It also has three ensuite letting bedrooms and owners' accommodation.

Outside are gardens and car parking.

Ye Olde Salutation Inn currently enjoys a four-star rating on reviews website Tripadvisor, with hundreds of reviewers rating it as excellent or very good.

It also achieved a five-star food overall hygiene rating in July, with inspectors giving 'good' ratings for its food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities, and management of food safety.
