A HEREFORDSHIRE petrol station has had to shut its doors for a number of days.
The Texaco-owned Newtown Cross Garage and its Spar convenience store in Crew’s Pitch, Newtown has temporarily closed this week while works go ahead.
A banner has appeared outside the petrol station telling customers that it will be closed for site improvements from Monday, January 15, re-opening on Thursday, January 18.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
As Newton Cross Garage is the only petrol station within a roughly ten-mile radius locals will instead have to travel to Hereford, Ledbury or Saffron’s Cross Garage near Bodenham in order to fill up their vehicles with fuel.
As the Spar is also the only convenience store in the area, people living in and around Newtown will have to rely on the Midway Convenience shop in Frome’s Hill, the community shops at Burley Gate and Bishop’s Frome and the Bartestree Village Stores.
