AN ATTACKER who strangled a woman and caused actual bodily harm to a man has been sent to the crown court.
Paul Hughes entered guilty pleas to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of intentional strangulation, three counts of assaulting an emergency worker by beating, one count of assault by beating, and two counts of causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
The court heard from prosecutor Melanie Winterflood that Hughes had assaulted a man, causing him actual bodily harm, and intentionally strangled a woman in Hereford on January 9.

The 57-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Mr Middleton, had also committed three assaults on police officers and assaulted another man in Hereford on the same date, magistrates in Kidderminster heard.
He had further intentionally or recklessly damaged a police vehicle and a Hereford police station custody cell belonging to West Mercia Police on the same date.
The case was sent to the crown court for sentencing and Hughes, of Rowland Close, Hereford, was remanded in custody, with a pre-sentencing report ordered to be carried out by the probation service.
He will appear before Worcester Crown Court for sentencing, with a time and date yet to be fixed.
