RIVER levels in Herefordshire are high after heavy rain yesterday, with four flood alerts being issued for the county.
The Environment Agency has said that river levels are high in Lugwardine, and have risen at the Bishops Frome river gauge, the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge and the Hay river gauge.
Flood alerts have been issued for the rivers Frome, Wye, Lugg south of Leominster and Leadon catchment.
Flooding of roads and farmland is possible, and could affect low-lying land and roads between Bromyard and Hereford and between Hay and Ross.
Other areas likely to experience flooding are Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton, Tibberton, Yarkhill, Stoke Prior, Bodenham, Lugwardine, Hampton Bishop, Byford and Bredwardine. Water may be out of bank at Upleadon Court.

The alerts from the Environment Agency say: "Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.
"We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Further rain is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect levels to remain high in the next few days."
