HEREFORDSHIRE has been named by a national paper as one of the top holiday destinations for 2024.
Herefordshire is amongst the Times’ list of the 89 best holiday destinations for 2024.
The article’s author highlights the Golden Valley pilgrims’ way, a week-long circular route from Hereford Cathedral that takes the walker around the Wye Valley, Golden Valley and the Black Mountains, as a particular draw amid the increase in walking itineraries being offered by tour operators.

They go on to speculate that tourists are seeking walking holidays in rural areas such as Herefordshire to find relief from the anxiety and stress induced by the consumption of news.
The 60-mile pilgrims’ way, which has been recently resurrected, is by far one of the cheapest activities on the list as walkers have the option of sleeping in medieval churches for only £20 a night.
This article has come amid a flurry of publications that have recently praised the county for its tourist appeal, with the Express lauding Ross-on-Wye as a must-visit destination and Discover Britain calling the area ‘England’s best kept secret’.
