POLICE have urged people to be wary of a "suspicious" man who was seen in a Herefordshire village with a young child.
The man, who was driving a green van with foreign plates, was seen lifting drain covers and attempting to fill water butts from hydrants. Later, he was seen close to a property. When he was approached by a concerned member of the public, he drove off at a high speed.
He was wearing hi-vis and a woolly hat, and was of a stocky build, and was seen on January 24 at around 2.30pm in Marden.
Adam Westlake, a police community support officer for rural north Herefordshire, said: "We would like to make you aware of this suspicious incident. The male was accompanied by a child approximately six years old. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity."
