THE Hereford Times has a good article on interesting places to visit in Herefordshire (10 places in Herefordshire you need to visit at least once, January 7).
Two to add are Blackfriars Rose Gardens and the Coningsby Museum in Widemarsh Street, opposite Wickes.
The ruins and preaching cross at Blackfriars date from the 14th century. The Coningsby museum next door is even older, built as a hospital in around 1225 by the Knights of St John of Jerusalem.

You can send a letter to the editor to have your say by clicking here.
Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
Children and adults alike enjoy both. Visitors to the rose gardens now will see snowdrops, with other spring bulbs blooming from January through April.
More than 600 roses will bloom from mid-May through to the end of October, tended by community volunteers.
Blackfriars Rose Gardens is fully accessible, free to all, open every day of the year, 8am to 5pm.
The Coningsby Museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays between Easter and the end of October, 11am to 3pm and is also free, but donations are welcome!
